4th of JULY in DC

Our day started out with a yummy breakfast that Libby and Daddy made - MMMM pancakes!
We got downtown and walked through a Folk Festival - we especially enjoyed the Colombian tent displays and the Rhythm and Blues singers. Libby really liked the Hari Krishna chanters.
Philly enjoyed the sounds and smells of his mission for a little while

Our little family in front of the crowds at the Capital.

The Colombian art display behind Phil was much more impressive in real life.
Libby and Daddy picking flowers(clover buds) on The Mall.
For the fireworks, we got to go up to Phillys office building which has The BEST views of the entire city. We were very lucky that we got to go up to the Chief Judge chambers and watch from his private office. I got to be amazed by the views and fireworks and be even more amazed by all my hubbys hard work and where it has led him.

The very second the fireworks ended we literally sprinted the quarter mile to the Metro and jumped on the first train. And we were very glad we did. It took us a grand total of a half hour to get home . It took some of the people in our ward over 2 hours to get back to their homes. Thank goodness for our daddy leading the way.

Happy 4th Everyone. We love you all ! Hugs and Kisses

  1. Love all your pictures, and the description of sprinting to the metro. :D Was Libby scared of the fireworks or just being silly, looking through the curtain?

  3. What a great memory... Being in the Nations Capital on the 4th of July.... There is a something I heard the other day they were talking about genealogy, but I think it applies to special places..its called "a place spirit" I felt it in Israel and I'll bet you felt it in DC.
    Enjoy the moment !!
