4th of JULY in DC

Our day started out with a yummy breakfast that Libby and Daddy made - MMMM pancakes!
We got downtown and walked through a Folk Festival - we especially enjoyed the Colombian tent displays and the Rhythm and Blues singers. Libby really liked the Hari Krishna chanters.
Philly enjoyed the sounds and smells of his mission for a little while

Our little family in front of the crowds at the Capital.

The Colombian art display behind Phil was much more impressive in real life.
Libby and Daddy picking flowers(clover buds) on The Mall.
For the fireworks, we got to go up to Phillys office building which has The BEST views of the entire city. We were very lucky that we got to go up to the Chief Judge chambers and watch from his private office. I got to be amazed by the views and fireworks and be even more amazed by all my hubbys hard work and where it has led him.

The very second the fireworks ended we literally sprinted the quarter mile to the Metro and jumped on the first train. And we were very glad we did. It took us a grand total of a half hour to get home . It took some of the people in our ward over 2 hours to get back to their homes. Thank goodness for our daddy leading the way.

Happy 4th Everyone. We love you all ! Hugs and Kisses

Spring Time in DC

Here are a few pictures of what we have been up to over the last couple weeks. Spring time in DC has been absolutely beautiful - everything is in bloom including my little girl, she is just growing and growing.
Libby and Daddy on a walk , stopping to smell the flowers
She's just one of the pretty flowers in the garden
PHil got a MUCH needed haircut....yikes!
We took a trip up to see the temple on a sunny day.

Libby saw that the local swimming pool had been filled with water and insisted that she go swimming immediately. So after we tried to explain that the pool was full but not open Libby turned to me and said " swimming in the tubbie" and of course daddy had to come too. So within minutes that tub was full and in the middle of the day her awesome dad was in a swimsuit in the "swimming tubbie"
Philly is in charge of the ward Easter party this year so this is a picture of us all "working together" to get the 1000 eggs filled
Libbys new wheels!!!
Oh what a beautiful morning.

Williamsburg and Jamestown

We had a wonderful little trip to Williamsburg at the beginning of the month. It was exactly what we needed. We ordered pizza and watched some really lame movies on cable and when we decided we wanted to get out and do something we had colonial Williamsburg just a mile away and Jamestown just a little bit down the road. We both were really taken with Jamestown it was impressive to see the old indian village right next to the old fort sitting on the shore line. It had an awesome feeling to the land- just standing on the ground where so much history took place. We had so much fun and it was really nice to be together as a family for a few days.

Today is April 1st and we are in the beginning stages of "finals frenzy" Phil is already studying night and day trying to cram everything he can into the cute head of his. Libby and I are keeping busy drawing circles and playing with her crew of baby dolls. We keep hoping for Spring to happen but it seems to be shy this year. April is going to be a busy month for us but it makes it worth while to know that Phil will be done soon and starting a really awesome internship. He will be working with a Federal Circuit judge this summer which is an amazing opportunity we are very very excited about. It will be alot of work but we are hoping and praying that it will help lead us to a great job in the future.

IT's February.... WHAT???

I can't believe how fast time runs away from us. My little family is just moving along here in D.C. I can't wait for winter to move along and bring back spring. I am getting cabin fever like crazy. I love when the weather is warm and i can go walking and playing outside with Lib. Hopefully it will come soon.
Philly is really busy this semester. He is working on a couple different internships for the Red Cross and the GILPA ( don't ask me to tell you what that stands for - something to do with National Intellectual Property Something... ) He has a full schedule of classes and is also working on taking the Patent Bar exam. This week he will be competing in two different events. The first one is a Dispute resolution competition that is like a arbitration role play. The Second one is working towards an opportunity to be an editor for the IP law journal for next year. Next week his paper is due for this years IP law journal- which will require alot of work. So I think it goes without saying that he is busy ..... I think that he is handling all of it very well and I think that it is awe inspiring that he is still making time to be the most amazing Father and Husband through it all.
Libby and I are just putting along here at home. My little girl went to her first week of nursery on Sunday and i was so sad that i had to teach and i couldn't be there. Daddy said she did really well though. She is growing up so fast i can't believe it. She is talking a mile a minute and is as sassy as can be. Its a little scary to think that you can get terrible two's at 1 1/2 but man are we already there. I am so happy that i have the chance to be at home with her everyday to watch her grow up.
