The wild woods
We went out for a hike in the wild woods. Libby's favorite part was throwing rocks into the river and fishing. We also got to see some turtles, snakes and frogs. It was a beautiful day to take some time to enjoy being out in the wild.
Picnic day!
Today was the most beautiful day. Libby and I put out a blanket and just played outside all day. Awhhhh The Beautiful Fall!!!!!!

February 2012
We had a lot of fun this month , it started out with some really exciting news. We added a new member to our family!
His name is Nemo and he is Libbys very first pet. Sorry grandmas that's the best we can do for right now. We took Libby to the pet store and let her pick out which ever one she wanted. She has loved having a little friend at home. Now if we can just figure out how to keep her from feeding him every hour. We are going to end up with an obese fish.

It has been really rainy this month which we love here at the Harris household. Especially when it comes in place of snow in February. The biggest perk of the rain is the puddles. Libby absolutely LOVES puddles! The minute she realizes it raining she screams and yells PUDDLES! She is drawn to them like magnets. She tries to resist but after a few seconds she gives in and ends up soaking wet with a huge grin on her face.
My little lawn Gnome! She is such a little character. After going on a long walk out side in the cold Libby crouched down by this tree and told me" I'm going to hang out here for awhile." So we stayed there for awhile and ate some cookies.
Speaking of cookies! Libby and Philly have been making a treat together every Sunday. Our favorite is our world famous chocolate chip cookies.
Sometimes when Libby holds still, is quiet and isn't being incredibly sassy. I get a glimpse of that sweet darling little girl and can't help but be in awe of how beautiful and big my little baby is getting.
We might as well admit it. We are all a bunch of Tree- Huggers in this family!
The beginning of this month was really cold so we were doing a lot of inside playing. After a few days of playing blocks Libby and I built this beauty of a tower. I think it might hold the record for "tallest tower" and "longest standing" We usually get about seven blocks in and Libby has to give a good HIYAHHH! and kicks them over. Silly Kid!
My little Berty is the perfect cross between Princess and tree climbing monkey. Just like her mom. If your going to climb a tree you might as well do it in a ball gown, right!
This river may be a drainage ditch but throw in a beautiful bridge, some ducks, sunshine and a really great fishing stick it became the perfect spot for some afternoon fishing. We sat and fished off of this bridge until it got dark. For some odd reason we didn't catch anything but we had a wonderful time trying.
This month I ventured into unknown territory and attempted to bake. This was my first ever banana bread and it actually turned out really yummy!
This month also brought Valentine's Day! And because my Hubbie truly knows and loves me. He knew that deep down inside what I truly love and all I really wanted was some good ole' trucker food. So that afternoon my Valentine drove us all 45 minutes through traffic just so we could get to the closest Texas Roadhouse. Man is it great to have someone who really knows and loves you for just who you are. And thanks to my dear sweet Dad who always sends his girls a rose and some chocolate every year we had a great dessert waiting for us when we got home
....and we definitively loved it!
The other big event that happened this month was potty training. We have been trying to do it for a few month with out much success. This month we have been really concentrating on it and she is doing pretty well. Our biggest problem is that once Libby goes into the bathroom she doesn't ever want to leave so we have been spending a lot of time in there.....
Being Mom to a two year old isn't an easy thing to do, it takes an incredible amount of work and patience and i have to admit that there are many days that I am not as thankful for it as I should be. I am just so grateful for quiet moments like these when I can remember what a huge blessing it is to be a mother. And how very grateful I am to have a little girl that is my light and joy and for a wonderful husband that has given me the gift of being able to stay at home with her everyday.

Jan 2012... What are we up to?
This year started so quickly it was like being struck by lightning. We got home from a great trip to see our family and got right back into the craziness of Law School. This month has gone by so fast I can't believe we are already heading into February. We had a lot keeping us busy this month but we also had a lot to celebrate. Phil was working overtime on his Moot Court preparations but after all that work he won the entire competition, undefeated. We are incredibly proud of him. So the hard work was all worth it. Hopefully February will be a little more relaxed ... here's to hoping!
Libby has become such a big girl. She is a wonder. Here are a few pictures of what she has been doing lately. Her favorite things are painting, watching movies, reading ( of course), playing outside in the puddles and eating puffy cheetos.
This is Libby's best friend ,Giraffe, she has been sleeping with him since she was a newborn. He has a little music box inside that Libby has just recently figured out how to turn all by herself. This is a picture of them , as Libby puts it , " Just hanging out together."
Libby adores her Daddy and hopes to be just like him when she grows up. This is a picture of her doing her best Daddy impression. She climbed up on his desk and said " Mom, I need to get some work done, I need to do some emails for a little bit." So she wrote some emails on the computer but of course, in true law school fashion, she had to take notes on her legal pad at the same time. She was sitting up there for so long I finally came in and said " Libby its time to take a break and go eat some lunch."
She replied" Mom, sometimes when dad is working you bring him a sandwich at his desk."
I laughed and said " Do you want me to bring you a sandwich at your desk, while you are working?"
Libby just nodded and said " close the door , I'm busy."
What a little crazy kid. Now I've two of them hiding out in that back room.....

One of Libby's favorites is to do Mom and Dads hair. Usually she prefers Mom's long hair but after I get soaking wet and need a break Dad is always nice enough to step in and take a turn.
Libby just loves her sunglasses. It doesn't matter that it is the middle of winter outside. She is just too sassy for silly logic like " Libby it is dark outside, you don't need those." For girls this cool it is never too dark outside for shades.
Thanks to Rapunzel and Libby's friend Claire. Liberty has become quite the painter. She has always been really good at coloring and coordination but with a paint brush she is amazing. She loves to paint flowers and smiles. She is always taking requests so if you are in ever in need of a great work of art we would love to send you one- just let us know.
She is growing up so fast. We just love her and can't wait to see what she will say and do next.
