His name is Nemo and he is Libbys very first pet. Sorry grandmas that's the best we can do for right now. We took Libby to the pet store and let her pick out which ever one she wanted. She has loved having a little friend at home. Now if we can just figure out how to keep her from feeding him every hour. We are going to end up with an obese fish.
It has been really rainy this month which we love here at the Harris household. Especially when it comes in place of snow in February. The biggest perk of the rain is the puddles. Libby absolutely LOVES puddles! The minute she realizes it raining she screams and yells PUDDLES! She is drawn to them like magnets. She tries to resist but after a few seconds she gives in and ends up soaking wet with a huge grin on her face.
My little lawn Gnome! She is such a little character. After going on a long walk out side in the cold Libby crouched down by this tree and told me" I'm going to hang out here for awhile." So we stayed there for awhile and ate some cookies.
Speaking of cookies! Libby and Philly have been making a treat together every Sunday. Our favorite is our world famous chocolate chip cookies.
Sometimes when Libby holds still, is quiet and isn't being incredibly sassy. I get a glimpse of that sweet darling little girl and can't help but be in awe of how beautiful and big my little baby is getting.
We might as well admit it. We are all a bunch of Tree- Huggers in this family!
The beginning of this month was really cold so we were doing a lot of inside playing. After a few days of playing blocks Libby and I built this beauty of a tower. I think it might hold the record for "tallest tower" and "longest standing" We usually get about seven blocks in and Libby has to give a good HIYAHHH! and kicks them over. Silly Kid!
My little Berty is the perfect cross between Princess and tree climbing monkey. Just like her mom. If your going to climb a tree you might as well do it in a ball gown, right!
This river may be a drainage ditch but throw in a beautiful bridge, some ducks, sunshine and a really great fishing stick it became the perfect spot for some afternoon fishing. We sat and fished off of this bridge until it got dark. For some odd reason we didn't catch anything but we had a wonderful time trying.
This month I ventured into unknown territory and attempted to bake. This was my first ever banana bread and it actually turned out really yummy!
This month also brought Valentine's Day! And because my Hubbie truly knows and loves me. He knew that deep down inside what I truly love and all I really wanted was some good ole' trucker food. So that afternoon my Valentine drove us all 45 minutes through traffic just so we could get to the closest Texas Roadhouse. Man is it great to have someone who really knows and loves you for just who you are. And thanks to my dear sweet Dad who always sends his girls a rose and some chocolate every year we had a great dessert waiting for us when we got home
....and we definitively loved it!
The other big event that happened this month was potty training. We have been trying to do it for a few month with out much success. This month we have been really concentrating on it and she is doing pretty well. Our biggest problem is that once Libby goes into the bathroom she doesn't ever want to leave so we have been spending a lot of time in there.....
Being Mom to a two year old isn't an easy thing to do, it takes an incredible amount of work and patience and i have to admit that there are many days that I am not as thankful for it as I should be. I am just so grateful for quiet moments like these when I can remember what a huge blessing it is to be a mother. And how very grateful I am to have a little girl that is my light and joy and for a wonderful husband that has given me the gift of being able to stay at home with her everyday.
SO cute Amy! And I heard about the house!!! Yay! I so happy for you guys!
ReplyDeleteLiberty sure is a lucky little cutie!
ReplyDeleteLibby is growing up so fast, and is so darn cute! We really enjoyed the visit when you were here, it was so good to see all of you!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update. Libby is one cute little gal! Having a two year old is work. It's all coming back to me. Jill and her 3 cute pre-schoolers are living with us. They are busy but fun, they keep me smiling!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are doing great in school Phil, keep up the great work.
Libby is a girl after my own heart, I loved puddles when I was little too, but I usually played in the spring rain. She is braver that I was.... This is such a precious time and I am glad you get to share this time together too.
ReplyDeleteI love you all.... Phil, I love that you are a great husband and Father... Keep on baking cookies for your sweet ones.
I love hearing about the everyday joys. Those are the things that make being a mommy so wonderful! It looks like you guys are having a great time together. :)
ReplyDeleteI remember making a goody most Sundays with my Dad, too, that is a great tradition!
Love you guys, let's talk again soon.
Hmm... I was sure I left a comment last time I saw this post. I loved all the pictures of Libby in her many moods. The tree climbing princess is a favorite. It's good to see her beautiful Mom too. :D
