Trip to the homeland

This week Libby and I flew with Grandma Kim back to Utah. We had a few adventures along the way.

Our first little detour took us to Long Beach. We ended up stuck there for awhile. After realizing we were only 13 miles away from Disneyland, we decided that we were just too close to not go. So after a bit of running around trying to find a way there- we found a cheap "scetchy" shuttle and we were on our way - with luggage in tow. Because I am cheap and Libby is 4 - we decided that saving the 300 dollars and just walking around downtown Disney was a perfect fit. And she never knew the difference ;)

We had fun walking around enjoying the sites -it was for sure better than the inside of an airport for 12 hours...and because Libby is a true Princess of course we just happened to have a tiara on hand.

After a while even excited little Princesses get tired of Disneyland. We had to take some breaks and then we had to get  creative...
Little black sticky nose.

Grandma was a sweetheart and got Libby an awesome souvenir. She got to do a Build a Bear at the Happiest place on Earth.

all successful trips end this way... Exhausted and ready to be home. It was a great little day.

The crop is in

After much care and time - we got a great tomato and a plentiful cucumber crop. Yeah for gardens in the city!

Teddy Roosevelt island

This Saturday we had an awesome afternoon running around on Teddy Roosevelt Island. We saw lizards, boats, tadpoles and lots of puppies.

Catching rainbows

Awesome Saturday!

Today we had just a great day together. I love days that just seem glowy.
The day started with Dad taking Libby downstairs for some breakfast so I could sleep - this is what happens when dad is in charge.

We spent the afternoon playing in the wild woods and fishing in our little stream.

After our trip to the wild woods we came home and played some tennis. Libby has been practicing hitting the ball and she is getting close to hitting every ball - it was Mom that sent the ball over the fence. Good thing daddy can still get himself over a fence.
